WHAT ARE THE GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE IN SOUTH CAROLINA?
Pursuant to S.C. Code Section 20-3-10, there are five grounds for divorce in South Carolina. Fault grounds include adultery, physical cruelty, habitual drunkeness, and one year's desertion. The only no fault ground for divorce is living separate and apart without cohabitation for a period of one year or more.
